Update 10/26:
Great news! 😀 Through the hard work of hundreds of volunteers, we are happy to announce that the 33 miles from Oconee SP to Bad Creek access is OPEN. The remainder of the Trail from the Bad Creek spur junction to Table Rock SP is CLOSED and will be for several months. See the message below from our chairman, Andrew Gleason:

Hey, everybody. This is Andrew with the Foothills Trail Conservancy, and I’ve got great news. We’ve got the 33 miles clear from Oconee State Park all the way to Bad Creek Access. Now, there are still some root balls out there. There are still some widow-makers hanging. So, if you go out there backpacking and camping, please use caution. You need to look at your campsite closely, and make sure there’s nothing that may fall into your campsite if the wind were to blow. There’s still many, many trees out there that have not hit the ground yet but will in the next few weeks and months. So, please use caution, but we’re very happy , though to announce that that section of trail is open from Oconee State Park to Bad Creek Access.

YOUR CONTINUED HELP NEEDED! Given the reports coming in we are asking for donations for the purchase of new saws, extra bars, chains, bar oil, etc. Click here to make your donation, every penny helps!
